Longan (Scientific Name: Dimocarpus Longan Lour.) is an evergreen tree of the genus Longan in the sapindaceae family, usually more than 10 meters in height. The fruit is nearly spherical, usually yellow-brown or gray-yellow, with a slightly rough outside or little convex nodules. The seeds are dark brown and bright, all covered by fleshy arils. Flowering in spring and summer, fruiting in summer. Longan is native to southern China and distributed in Fujian, Hainan, Guangdong, Yunnan and other provinces. It grows in the south subtropical area, likes a warm and humid climate. It can tolerate short-term frost, and it will not freeze to death in a short period of time at a low temperature of 0-4°C.
